Wild Basin Outfitters has been offering guided fly fishing trips Rocky Mountain National Park for 9 years. 
None of our guides have ever had any fish or game violations or citations by the Park Service, and we do not guide on any water we do not have permission or permits to do so. 

We are committed to providing our guests a safe and fun experience, and our staff an enjoyable environment to work in.

Fly Fishing Guides

Being a good guide is not about being a great fly fisher; it's about being a professional, patient teacher, a good listener, and connecting with your client.

We are beginning to interview for a limited number of fly fishing guides to join our company this summer.   This is an independent contractor position and you will be required to have:

   - Current First Aid & CPR certification
   - Suitable Transportation
   - Vehicle Insurance
   - In-depth knowledge of fly fishing & RMNP
   - A positive attitude and sense of humor
   - No criminal record
   - Be able to pass an alcohol and drug test

You must also be in good enough physical condition to hike throughout the Park without any difficulty.

New guides, regardless of experience, start at 40% commission based on the net price of the trip, plus any tips.  After 5 trips your performance and knowledge will be evaluated based on feedback from your customers and fellow guides. 

If it is positive, you may receive an increase on your commission. 

If it is not, you will remain at 40%, or your contract may be terminated.
 
Guides will provide the following for their clients at their own expense:
   - Snacks and water
   - Lunch on full-day trips
   - Leaders, tippet and flies
   - Round-trip transportation from Estes Park to the fishing locations

The company will provide rod, reel and waders for your clients, or you may provide your own.  There is no additional compensation if you decide to provide your own equipment, but you may get a bigger tip from your client.
